AKOWA was established with a vision to cater to the developmental needs of orphans, tribal people, destitute, weaker section, marginal farmers, woman and children of the area. Ever since its origin in 1985, AKOWA has been keen on promoting the fundamental requirements of the people of the target area. A great extent of multi phased welfare and development activities has taken place in AKOWA, in which poverty eradication and hunger free programs (food, drinking water, Medicare, education and house for all), innovative and most effective training for children and youth from weaker, backward, tribal and distressed sections, skill orientation for youth, women and unemployed, counseling and therapeutic services, social welfare and humanitarian activities, yoga and meditation, mental health care, support for orphanages and tribal colonies, water management, rural development and agriculture research, promotion of eco-friendly tourism etc. are now being given great emphasis.
What we visualize is a qualitative change in the educational and socio- cultural system, training sector, human potential, living standard, tourism, food safety (food for all), mental health and health care practices of the state. AKOWA is the recipient of various awards for its outstanding contributions in tribal and rural development and social welfare activities.
The organization is run by an executive committee consisting of seven members of the society. The organization has well qualified and experienced personnel from different field to organize, conduct, manage and monitor any training programs, educational and medical activities, welfare/ development programs and other projects.
AKOWA has its own building for administration,counseling , education and training programs and rented building for other projects. It has also have audio visual equipment, computers, communication and travel facilities, library, boarding, lodging and recreational facilities.
Donations to AKOWA is Exempted from Income Tax under 12A & 80G of Income Tax Department.
Poverty Eradication, Hunger free India, Basic amenities, Human & Childs rights and Health & Education for all are the Major Aims of all the Programs of AKOWA.
